THE COB HOUSE - Greyton accommodation

Here in Greyton you can now experience the natural feel of cob living. Cob is a mix of clay, sand & straw using hands and feet to form lumps of earth. The houses are cool in summer and warm in winter, resistant to rain, cold, fire and earthquakes. Around the world there are many cob buildings in use that are thousands of years old, consequently they are energy efficient, green sustainable, durable and free of toxins for a fun healthy way of living.

  

Greyton Cob House is a soul soothing home, where you can relax and re-vitalize in its natural surroundings. This original thatched cob house was hand built by the owners and is set in 2000sqm of indigenous gardens situated on the edge of the Nature Reserve with stunning mountain views.

  

There are 2 large bedrooms in the Main House.  Main bedroom with double bed and bunk beds with en-suite bath, basin and toilet. The second bedroom has a double bed with en-suite shower, basin and toilet and a balcony leading to spectacular mountain views. It has an open plan traditional farmhouse style kitchen & dining area and a separate TV lounge.

  

Outside entertainment area braai facilities, pizza oven and a 17meter lap pool with sun deck for those hot summer days. At the bottom of the garden, overlooking a natural pond with an abundance of bird life and fabulous mountain views is a separate cottage ‘Little Cob’ with bedroom with double bed, bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. It is equipped with a kitchenette for 2 guests.

Accommodation Rates and Booking Procedures:
• 50% deposit payable, prior to arrival, to secure the booking and
   balance payable 3 days prior to arrival.

• R1 200 per night for 2 guests (minimum requirement)
• R150 per adult thereafter up to 6 adults
• R50 per child per night between 2-12 years old
• Babies under 2  in own cot free of charge
• ‘Little Cob’ R500 per night for 2 guests if booked separately.

• cash and internet transfers accepted
• no cheques, debit or credit cards

Restrictions:
• Minimum 2 nights
• Children and pets welcome
• No smoking

  

Arrival and Departure:
• check-in time is 14h00 and check-out 10h00 unless arranged otherwise
